This Privacy Policy explains how GrandePrairie.net collects, uses and protects your information. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's PIPA.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information — name, email, password (stored hashed), business or realtor details.
  • Listing & submission content — business info, property listings, classifieds, event and contact form submissions.
  • Newsletter — your email address if you subscribe.
  • Payment — handled by Stripe; we do not store your card number. We keep subscription status and a Stripe customer ID.
  • Usage & device data — basic logs and cookies for functionality and security. Approximate weather is based on Grande Prairie, not your device location.

2. How we use it

To provide and improve the Site, display your listing, process subscriptions, moderate content, send the newsletter you requested, respond to enquiries, prevent abuse, and comply with law.

3. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share only with service providers that help run the Site — for example Stripe (payments), our hosting provider, and Google (if the Places directory feature is used). Business and listing details you submit are shown publicly by design.

4. Cookies

We use minimal cookies for login sessions and basic functionality. You can control cookies in your browser; disabling them may limit some features.

5. Data retention

We keep information while your account or listing is active and as needed for legal and operational purposes. Classifieds and sold/expired listings are removed automatically over time.

6. Your rights

You may access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, and unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. Email support@grandeprairie.net to make a request.

7. Security

We use reasonable safeguards including hashed passwords and secure payment processing. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.

8. Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

9. Changes

We may update this policy; the "last updated" date will change accordingly.
