Terms of Service

Welcome to GrandePrairie.net ("the Site," "we," "us"), a local guide and marketplace for Grande Prairie, Alberta and the Peace Region. By accessing or using the Site you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Our services
We provide a local business directory, real estate and rental listings, community events, local news links, classifieds, a newsletter, and paid business listings and mini-sites. Some features require an account.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information and keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Business, realtor, customer and staff accounts each have different features. You must be the age of majority in Alberta to enter a paid agreement.
3. Listings and user content
Businesses, realtors and customers are solely responsible for the content they submit (descriptions, photos, prices, contact details, classifieds). You confirm you have the right to post it and that it is accurate and lawful. We may edit, decline, or remove any content, and we moderate classifieds and listings. Do not post anything false, misleading, offensive, infringing, or unlawful.
4. Paid listings, subscriptions and billing
Paid plans (Growth, Spotlight, Market Leader), featured placements, mini-sites, advertising and website services are billed through Stripe on a recurring monthly basis unless stated otherwise. You authorize recurring charges until you cancel. You may cancel anytime through your dashboard or the billing portal; cancellation stops future charges and ends featured placement at the end of the paid period. Fees already paid are generally non-refundable except where required by law.
5. Advertising
Banner and sponsored placements are subject to our approval. We may remove ads that are misleading, illegal, or inconsistent with the Site.
6. Local news and third-party links
Local news items are aggregated headlines and short excerpts that link to the original publisher; we do not claim ownership of that content. The Site contains links to third-party websites which we do not control and are not responsible for.
7. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the Site, attempt to disrupt it, scrape it without permission, or use it to send spam. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
8. Intellectual property
The Site design, branding and original content are owned by GrandePrairie.net. You retain ownership of content you submit but grant us a licence to display and promote it on the Site and its channels.
9. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The Site and its listings, ratings, weather, news and event information are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee accuracy, availability, or results. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the prior three months.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the laws of Canada applicable therein. Disputes will be handled in the courts of Alberta.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms; continued use after changes means you accept them.
